1. THAMES ESTUARY 2100 PROJECT
The Thames Estuary 2100 project is an Environment Agency flood risk management project which covers the tidal Thames from Teddington in west London , through to Sheerness and Shoeburyness in Kent and Essex. The aim of the project is to develop a long term adaptable flood risk management plan for London and the Thames estuary. This project is now in the final stages of consultation. 2.UPPER TIDAL MEDWAY STRATEGY
This strategy study covers the tidal River Medway from the tidal limit at Allington Lock downstream to Upnor. It will aim to set out a plan for delivering the proposed flood risk management policies of the Medway Estuary and Swale Shoreline Management Plan. CONTACT: Richard Knight. 3. MEDWAY BASIN & SWALE STRATEGY
This strategy study covers the outer Medway estuary from Upnor to Sheerness, including the Swale estuary. It will aim to set out a plan for delivering the proposed flood risk management policies of the Medway Estuary and Swale Shoreline Management Plan. CONTACT: Simon Curd. 4.ISLE OF SHEPPEY STRATEGY
This strategy study covers the long term flood risk management of the Isle of Sheppey, principally the sea defences at Sheerness and Queenborough, but also the low lying Southern marshes. A review of the original strategy is planned which will take into account revised procedures and risks, new works, developments and environmental amendments. CONTACT: Simon Curd. 5.FAVERSHAM CREEK TO WHITSTABLE HARBOUR STRATEGY
The Strategy Study covers the frontage from Faversham Creek to the commencement of the Tankerton slopes just to the east of Whitstable Harbour . The study was led by Canterbury City Council and was completed in 2004. CONTACT: Ted Edwards. Ted.edwards@canterbury.gov.uk
6.TANKERTON & SWALE CLIFFS STRATEGIES
A Strategy type study for Tankerton was completed by Canterbury City Council in 1995. The Swalecliffe Strategy Study, from Long Rock to Hampton Pier, is at the public consultation stage and is due for completion in December 2009. The study is being led by Canterbury City Council. 7. HERNE BAY STRATEGY
The Strategy Study cover the frontage from Hampton Pier to Reculver and is due to commence in late 2009 with completion planned for 2011. The study will be led by Canterbury City Council. CONTACT: Ted Edwards@canterbury.gov.uk
8.RECULVER TO MINNIS BAY STRATEGY
The Strategy Study covers the frontage from just west of Reculver Towers through to Minnis Bay . The study was led by Canterbury City Council and was completed in 1997. CONTACT: Ted Edwards@canterbury.gov.uk
9. PEGWELL BAY TO KINGSDOWN STRATEGY

10. FOLKESTONE TO CLIFF END STRATEGY

14. OUSE TO SEAFORD HEAD STRATEGY

15. SALTDEAN TO NEWHAVEN STRATEGY

16. SALTDEAN TO BRIGHTON MARINA STRATEGY

17. BRIGHTON MARINA TO RIVER ADUR STRATEGY

18.ARUN TO ADUR STRATEGY

25. PORTSEA ISLAND COASTAL STRATEGY STUDY

26. PORCHESTER CASTLE TO EMSWORTH STRATEGY
This strategy is being led by the EA in partnership with Havant Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, Chichester District Council and Fareham Borough Council. 27. PORCHESTER CASTLE TO HOEFORD LAKE FLOOD & COASTAL EROSION RISK PROPOSED STRATEGY
This strategy will be led by Fareham Borough Council and is proposed to commence in early 2010 with completion in 2011. It will be based on an earlier shoreline defence strategy prepare by Fareham Borough Council. CONTACT: Dave Watkins. dwatkins@fareham.gov.uk
28. PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR ENTRANCE TO HOEFORD LAKE PROPOSED COASTAL STRATEGY
This is a proposed strategy to be led by Gosport Borough Council; it is due to commence in 2010 and be completed by 2012. It will draw on information collected in the previous Gosport Town Centre Strategy. CONTACT: David Martin. David.martin@gosport.gov.uk
29. HOOK LAKE TO PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR ENTRANCE STRATEGY

30. RIVER ITCHEN, WESTON SHORE & RIVER HAMBLE STRATEGY

31. PROPOSED SOUTHAMPTON CITY COASTAL FLOOD & EROSION RISK STRATEGY

32. ISLE OF WIGHT NORTH-EAST COAST STRATEGY STUDY
The strategy study which covered the coastline between Old Castle Point, East Cowes and Culver Cliff was approved in 2005. CONTACT: Peter Marsden. coast@iow.gov.uk
33. EASTERN YAR FLOOD & EROSION RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGY

34. SANDOWN BAY AND UNDERCLIFF COASTAL DEFENCE STRATEGY
The study is being led by the Isle of Wight Council and is partially completed. The original study area from Culver Cliff to Dunnose Point, Shanklin was extended southwards and westwards to include the Undercliff as far west as Blackgang Chine. Estimated completion 2013. 35. WEST WIGHT STRATEGY
The study extends from Blackgang to the Needles and along the Island 's north-werst coast to Old Castle Point, East Cowes; estimated completion 2012. CONTACT: peter.marsden.coast@iow.gov.uk
36. WESTERN SOLENT COASTAL DEFENCE STRATEGY
The Strategy, which is being prepared by New Forest District Council , extends from Calshot Spit to Hurst Spit. The study has involved extensive discussions on habitat compensatory issues which are now being resolved. It will now follow the North Solent Shoreline SMP and is estimated to be completed in 2011. 37. CHRISTCHURCH BAY STRATEGY
This strategy will be led by New Forest District Council in cooperation with Christchurch Borough Council. It is due to commence shortly and due to be completed in 2012. CONTACT: Steve Cook. Steve.cook@nfdc.gov.uk
38. POOLE BAY & HARBOUR STRATEGY
The study covers the coastline between Hengistbury Head and Durlston Head and includes the coastline of Poole Harbour and the islands within it. 39. WEYMOUTH BAY AND PORTLAND HARBOUR (PROPOSED) STRATEGY
A Strategy for Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour is under consideration with a view to commencement in 2010 and completion in 2012.
40. LYME BAY ( PORTLAND BILL TO BEER HEAD) (PROPOSED) STRATEGY
A proposed Strategy for this frontage is under consideration with a view to commencement in 2010 and completion in 2012.
