Photo 2 (Return) Beer Head, 2001. The headland and narrow shore platform formed of Chalk define a significant change in coastal orientation towards Seaton Bay (to the right). It operates as a barrier to littoral drift, although the beach accumulation immediately to the west (to the left) is not as substantial as might be expected, raising the possibility that material could be transferred eastward into deeper water once it reaches the headland tip. |
