Beer Head, 2001. The headland and narrow shore platform formed of Chalk define a significant change in coastal orientation towards Seaton Bay (to the right). It operates as a barrier to littoral drift. The Chalk cliffs yield small quantities of flint gravels to local beaches as they retreat.
