Charmouth Beach quantified gravel budget – Materials released by coastal landslides undergo storage within the cliff landslide complexes prior to supply to the beach. Note that the beach storage volume is quite small and represents only 50-100 years of the cliff input. This is because much of the gravel supplied is lost by attrition on the beach, or transported eastward around the Golden Cap Headland to Seatown Beach (taken from Bray 1996).
