One of the new generation of larger ferries introduced on the Wootton to Portsmouth route in 1982. Their regular entry into the confined waters of Wootton Creek has been implicated in bank and foreshore erosion. Incoming ferries generate bow waves and also notable surges involving an elevation and subsequent lowering of water levels by up to 0.30m during low tides (August 1992).
