St Catherine's Point, southern Undercliff, 2001. Sea-cliffs cut within soft landslide debris have retreated at 0.74 metres per annum in recent decades. The boulders are released from the eroding cliff toes form aprons on the foreshore that dissipate wave action and partially protect the cliff toes at this otherwise exposed location.
