Photo 29 (Return) Castle Cove cliff stabilisation scheme, southern Undercliff, 2001. Completed in 1996, the scheme has involved slope regrading, installation of slope drainage, toe loading and wave energy dampening using a rock armoured revetment and terminal rock breakwaters. The aim was to ensure that instability of the sea cliffs did not cause reactivations extending inland to the slopes and terraces above that are occupied by properties. | |
