Tidal delta and inlet of the Otter Estuary. Note that eastward drift of gravels along Budleigh Spit has deflected the inlet eastwards against Otterton Ledge. Reclaimed land flanks the western estuary bank. Saltmarsh has developed within the narrow enclosed estuary.
