Chichester Harbour, false colour infrared image, 2001. Southern tips of the Thorney (1) and Chidham (2) peninsulas separate the Thorney (3) and Chichester (4) channels. Pilsey Island (5) comprises two gravel spits and a dune system backed by mature upper saltmarsh. Pilsey Sand lies immediately to its west. Another small gravel spit has developed at Horse Pond (6).
