Erosion along the Hayling Billy Coastal Path on the western shore of Hayling Island, 2002. Fetches and wave exposure have increased in recent decades following widespread dieback of Spartina within the harbour. Note the timber pile groynes and revetment constructed to protect the path. In future it is likely that the path will need to be realigned landward.
