River Bride near Burton Bradstock, 2001. The stream cuts through a small valley between East Cliff and Burton Cliff at the western end of Chesil Beach. Drift frequently blocks the mouth so that the stream normally percolates through the beach. Following rainfall events flood waters can periodically cut through the beach to establish a temporary mouth. Note the eastward deflection of the channel by drifting beach gravels.
